About LocalKit

Free, private file tools — built by one developer, in the open.

I've spent about 7 years building frontend and full-stack products with React, Next.js, Angular and AWS — including browser extensions, design-tool plugins and shared component systems. I built LocalKit because routine file jobs like merging a PDF or compressing a photo shouldn't require uploading personal documents to someone else's server.

Why LocalKit exists

Most free online file tools work by uploading your file to a server, processing it there, and sending the result back. That's a lot of trust to hand over for a bank statement, an ID scan or a contract. LocalKit does the same jobs entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly, the Canvas API and Web Workers. Your files never leave your device, there are no accounts, and the tools keep working offline once loaded.
